Taking part in a Mowgli Mentoring programme is a unique, high-value opportunity that will make a real impact on your entrepreneurial skills. A fully trained Mowgli Mentor will support you to grow your confidence and capability and build a sustainable business over the course of a full year. You’ll also have access to learning resources, peer group networks, personal support, companionship, motivation and encouragement.
Currently, all costs for entrepreneurs are covered by Mowgli’s funds. This is why we screen participants carefully to ensure that they meet the high standards we demand on our programmes. Our criteria for participation is below.

Could this be you? Mowgli’s Criteria for Participation
- Do you have a developed business? A sound business idea that has both structure and secured funding? Are you a successful former microfinance beneficiary? Or are you an NGO Director with capital projects which require sustainability?
- Can you prove you’ve had vision, diligence and perseverance in establishing the business?
- Do you believe there is potential to add sustainable economic value in terms of wage/job creation?
- Are you prepared to take 3 days away from your business, plus an hour a week for one year afterwards, and commit your time whole-heartedly to building a relationship with your mentor and working on your business growth strategy?
- Do you speak good business English?
- Do you have good IT skills and access to the internet?
- Are you prepared to take part in our regular monitoring (quarterly ten- minute online forms, plus comprehensive reviews of your skills and learning at the beginning and end of the mentoring year?)
