As many of you know, we launched a pilot mentoring programme for entrepreneurs in Manchester back in November 2010. That programme is now coming to a close, and the participants have achieved lots of exciting things- you can read a case study of a Mowgli UK entrepreneur here .
Now, a lot of other plans are just beginning to come together for Mowgli in the UK, and we wanted to share these with our community to keep them up to date.
South West:
Mowgli recently launched our programmes in Bristol, and we have been busy recruiting and screening mentors and entrepreneurs to invite on to these programmes. If you have completed an application, you should have received some communication from us to acknowledge it- if you didn’t, please contact us directly.
Bristol applicants should also have received an invitation to our Global Entrepreneurship Week gathering on November 15th- please find out more here.
We are hoping to run the MME programme to match Bristol entrepreneurs and mentors in the next few weeks, and dates will be finalised soon- you will hear from us!
North West:
In Manchester, we are hoping to also launch mentoring programmes in the New Year, and we have a number of mentors and entrepreneurs on our waiting list as well as supportive partners. Again, if you have applied to take part in a Manchester programme, you will be hearing from us soon. We appreciate your patience! And if you haven’t applied as a mentor or entrepreneur yet, there is still time- click on Get Involved.
Rest of UK
For those of you outside the North West and South West, who may have applied or be interested in taking part, please be patient- we are not planning to run mentoring programmes in other regions in the immediate future, but please keep up to date via our newsletter and the Mowgli UK Twitter feed. You might also want to search the Global Entrepreneurship Week UK website for events upcoming in your area.
If you’re in London, look up Pembridge Partners who work with early stage, high growth companies to secure investment, achieve high-grow or exit. Pembridge are also part of a consortium that runs a Government-backed investment readiness programme, Gateway2Investment, which has helped 43 companies raise almost £16m and given hundreds of others valuable help through workshops, pitching days and investor events since July 2010. Their regular events are well worth checking out.
How you can help
In order for us to bring Bristol and Manchester mentors and entrepreneurs together in supportive and inspirational mentoring relationships, Mowgli needs the support of businesses and organisations in the local community. Each relationship costs us approximately £1500 to develop and support for one year, but the societal impact is well recognised (check out our Impact Report for more).
