Up to 50 social and business entrepreneurs will receive mentorship and support from International and Jordanian Business Leaders

The Mowgli Foundation today announced that it has received official support from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Jordan as part of the Arab Partnership initiative. Up to 50 Jordanian social and business entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to participate in Mowgli’s Mentoring Experience and twelve month mentorship program. The agreement was signed by H.E. Entrepreneurship is crucial for the future economic and social development of Jordan where thousands of new jobs need to be created in the next four years.  SMEs are the engine of growth for all economies worldwide and Mowgli together with the FCO, through the APF, will support and help entrepreneurs to grow and expand their businesses to create jobs.

Peter Millett Jordan FCO Ambassador said:

“Part of our mandate is to support Jordan to ensure a economically healthy environment. We are delighted to be able to provide the much needed support to Jordanian entrepreneurs, through the Mowgli Foundation and its innovative and impactful mentoring program.”

Mowgli Jordan founder Tony Bury said:

“Mowgli has made a significant investment in Jordan’s entrepreneurs.  It is heart warming, to see that the work we have done in Jordan has been validated and is now being supported by the British Government and I am extremely grateful for their very kind support. The additional funding will enable Mowgli to run more Mentorship programs, expand our outreach to social and business entrepreneurs across the Kingdom, provide them with the necessary emotional and business support, to enable them to succeed and create more jobs. This is the very reason I founded Mowgli.”

  1. Thank you for the great news.

Can you please explain more about the benefits of this new support, and how it will be reflected on the Jordanian Entrepreneurs.

Also, would appreciate to know whether ‘old’ metees can benefit from the new support?

    Regards,

    Maen Zaghloul

    Hi Maen,

Thanks for your comment! We will be using this funding to continue our work in Jordan, to grow the network of mentors and entrepreneurs. The money is to pay for more programmes, with a new pool of entrepreneurs and new mentors- since the object of our mission is to support as many entrepreneurs as possible.

However, what it does mean for past mentors and mentees is a new pool of Mowgli community members to network with, across a wide range of industries. We’ll be putting lots of effort into providing you with networking events and chances to share your experiences and get to know each other. So yes, past entrepreneurs will definitely benefit- as all of you know, what you put into being part of the Mowgli community comes back at you tenfold with such a great group of people who are all potential collaborators, referrals, friends, mentors and sources of knowledge!
Make sure you’re on our Facebook page and our Twitter feed for updates about events where you are. And make sure we have your uptodate contact details- email info@mowgli.org.uk!

    Thanks, Cordelia
