Whilst on vacation in South Africa, I have had the opportunity to read the above title.
Well worth a read as it dismisses many myths and brings a sense of reality. However a particular paragraph really highlighted to me the correlation between this piece of work and what Mowgli is creating.
A couple of concepts that were at the fore:
- “To build a better world we need to replace a patchwork of lucky breaks and arbitrary advantages that today determine success – the fortunate birthdates and the happy accidents of history – with a society that provides opportunities for all… The world could be so much richer than the world we have settled for“.
- The introduction of what was termed “meaningful work” which captivates, motivates the human spirit is comprised of three criteria which are highlighted in the book and so relevant for entrepreneurs:
- Clear relationship between effort and reward
- Complex work
- Autonomous
