Mark Hughes

Mark HughesMark Hughes is Director of mch consulting, a management consultancy firm that exclusively works with not-for-profits, charities and social enterprises to increase their positive impact.

Helping organisations increase their impact through the development of staff and volunteers is an increasingly important part of Mark’s work and assistance often comes in the form of delivering training courses in management and leadership. Helping clients develop mentoring within an organisation is an area of particular interest and Mark is currently assisting a national network of mentors working within Arts based charities.

The importance Mark places on mentoring stems from a number of personal experiences of being both a mentor and a mentee over the last ten years. Having worked with several mentoring organisations, Mark has also seen the powerful, positive impact mentoring can have in a range of very different settings.

Mark’s current role makes use of two very different ‘past lives’. Prior to starting his own company, Mark served as Chief Executive Officer for an Aboriginal sporting and community development organisation in rural Australia. Before that he gained an excellent grounding in consulting at the international management consultancy firm, McKinsey & Company.

Mark also has a PHD in Organic Chemistry and a Masters Degree in Diplomacy and Trade.
