John is a consultant, executive coach and trainer, specialising in working with technology and finance organisations.
Between 1984 and 2003 John was employed by McDonnell Douglas, Robert Fleming, Barings, and Merrill Lynch in a variety of roles including systems analyst, technical consultant, support manager, project/programme manager and director. Since 2003 he has worked freelance and has carried out a range of consultancy, project management, training and coaching assignments. The organisations he has worked with include technology companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, SWIFT and Fiserv, and investment managers including Schroders, AXA and Man.
John has extensive experience as a senior consultant and project/programme manager specialising in analysing, designing and delivering technology and operational change. He has worked on many different kinds of projects including software development, systems integration, application software package implementation and outsourcing (both technology and business processing).
John is an executive coach, and as well as working with Mowgli is a business mentor with the Prince’s Trust. He has an MA in Professional Coaching and is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). He has presented at the European ICF conference and has written on coaching, leadership and personal development for various publications including Coaching at Work, CIO Magazine and Freelancing Matters
John has delivered training programmes in project management for software development teams, process improvement, quality management, coaching skills and personal development to a range of audiences in the UK, Europe, the United States and Canada. He is particularly interested in the impact of change on the people in the business or organisation and the benefits of viewing an organisation as a living human system.
