Mowgli Foundation announces a UK Pilot

The Mowgli Foundation is known for it’s work in the Middle East, working with entrepreneurs in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine so far.  Yet, we are also a UK Charity and we felt that we also need to recognise that many of the issues facing developing economies are also present within the poorer sectors of the UK economy too.

Which is why The Mowgli Foundation has chosen to team up with Common Purpose to work with young and new entrepreneurs in some of the most deprived areas of the United Kingdom.  The first pilot is due to take place later on this year, probably in December and will be based in the Manchester inner city area.

If you are thinking about becoming a Mowgli Mentor but have been put off by the travelling required, then perhaps this may be the opportunity you were waiting for.  You can apply online or email Alicja for more information.

At Mowgli we aim to alleviate poverty by stimulating enterprise and entrepreneurship through the power of mentoring. We match mentors with aspiring entrepreneurs in the developing world to create a two-way relationship with leaders who act as mentors benefitting from accelerated leadership development, the deepening of inbuilt competencies & skills, and the reigniting of entrepreneurial capabilities, while entrepreneurs (mentees) benefit from practical and emotional support, increased self confidence and targeted personal development to support them in building a successful and sustainable business.

Our year long Mowgli Mentoring Experience commences with a 4-day introduction to mentoring programme which incorporates mentee and mentor matching, relationship building and the development of a framework by which the mentee and mentor will operate for the remainder of the year.

We hope that you will support in this endeavour, in the same way that you’ve been supporting us in our work with our Middle Eastern colleagues.
